Proof that Orlando Bloom is actually Pascal Cygan from Arsenal FC.

I couldn't update my blog for a few days(it turned to weeks and subsequently, months) due to blogger screwing up last week and my impending e-mail replies to countless of pubescent secondary school girls who e-mailed me, presumably after reading my previous entry, accusing me of committing blasphemy towards their beloved idol Orlando Cygan.

In their emotionally tear jerking e-mails, other than blasting me for insulting their intelligence and sensibility(they indignantly claimed watching Troy was worth every cents of their lunch money their parents slogged their ass off for because even if they could watch Orlando Cygan playing in the Premiership every weekend, they still wanted to catch Brad Pitt in the buff. 2 in 1 package liaozz!!), they pledged their allegiance to him and swore to drool at every little sight of him and declared that they would worship him as their numero uno idol. I had forgotten to inform them that i had watched Kingdom of Heaven on-screen as well in an exclusive opening night screening and my opinion of his uncanny resemblance to that baldie remain unchanged despite his character being masked up with a beard and a silly moustache.

Well just to aksyen a bit(kata melayu, mestila aksyen mau lebih dok!), other than Kingdom of Heaven, i watched Madagascar and Mr and Mrs Smith on Star Movies Opening Night, which means i watched it 2 nights before the actual opening of the movie. For free.

In a bid to avoid myself getting more hate-mail to reply to, i suggest you schoolgirls make Orlando Cygan your sole idol instead of the generic chinese boybands like 5566(heng cute liaozz!), F4, Energy or Sylvester Sim Xiang Long liaozz. This rant maybe going nowhere, but as an affiliate of the supposed "American Muslim Org", i felt a sense of duty to express my great disapproval of these chinese boybands hahaha.

Of course, the other reason i didn't blog was because i actually have a life and had to do many other important things rather than blogging, checking my weblog and tagboard every now and then or replying to tags in minutes.

Magazine project and planning for the KL trip, albeit many unwanted problems, took up much of my time.

----------------------------- ------------------------------ ---------------------

I used to think i had a bunch of great friends. I used to think my friendship circle epitomises the neverending bond and my friends were the best part of my life.

I miss the days when football was our life. We ate, drank, breathed and played football.

"friday bola ah"

"kat homeground ke central?"

"central ah. homeground kite main sunday."

I miss the terawih cup days, where we would escape from terawih prayers and gather at the homeground in great numbers, some decked in songkoks and baju kurong, playing football half naked or barefooted.

Slowly, the great numbers diminished to small numbers. From 3 to 4 teams, we sized down to 1 or 2 teams during football meetups.

I miss the days we sat around the void deck, meeting after school or soccer, talking about our dreams, ambitions, future plans and next outings.

I used to think our circle of frenship would never weaken, unlike the typical fair weather friendships other people had. i even used to believe that we, as a group of friends, were something different. Full of crap, all jokes taken in the name of fun, no serious misunderstanding and most importantly, deep respect for each other. We used to share everything together.

In an era where the time between " Friends forever!" and "Friends are nothing" is incredibly short, i seriously used to think the length and camaraderie of our friendship circles beat all odds.

In a time where friends can delete another on their Friendster list and yet shamelessly claim "we are still friends and i treasure our friendship", i am thankful i still have a group of great friends to count on.

But nowadays, i am having doubts. My incredible circle of friends have diminished in numbers. Treating each other with common respect, conversing with each other with ease, and the tantalising ability to share knowledge with each other is seriously lacking.

There seems to be no difference between treating each other right and wrong nowadays, and the evidence is intangible. Efforts to salvage friendships through open conversations is being perceived as accusations, when a simple apology would do the trick. Being stood up without explanation is nothing to feel aggrieved about nowadays.

Friendship spanning years can be affected by hearsay nowadays. Outsiders with self-construed opinions can easily affect our friendships just by whining. Just by imposing one's assumption on others, friendships are fractured.

Nowadays work, dating, clubbing, drinking sessions edge out outings with friends.

Clubbing more cool than lepak bawah block. Ada lebih class, boleh minum, boleh joget and boleh pick up chicks siottt!

Rather than meeting up with friends or play soccer, lebih baik gua pegi dating dgn gua nye girl dok! boleh make out!

Occasional outings with friends, buih sudah dok. Dorang ok punye la. Gua ada reason pe. Takyah sorry2 ni sume ah. Dorang understand nye.

I think people grow up, and go to school and study books to become better people.
But to be a good person, you don't even need books.

Self humility and respect for others goes a long way.

U can wear nice clothes, go to a good school, get good results, speak good language and have wads of cash to spare.

But if you dont even have the basic moral etiquette, sensibility to treat people with respect and sensitivity to other people's feelings, all that doesn't add up to your worth.

If growing up means fading friendships, then i would rather not grow up.

Fading friendships is just a stereotype that is embedded in the mindset of the people of today.
Just like a chewing gum, if a friendship lose its flavour, u replace it with a new one.
That kind of mindset has to go.

I believe if more interaction, sensitivity, respect, care and effort is put in, any friendship would never lose its flavour and no misunderstandings would occur.

Friendship, like music and lovemaking, requires frequent interaction.
If theres no interaction, then it becomes masturbatory.

Its ironic eh how people can cry over a dropped grade in school, from A+ to B, u can cry and feel depressed, and would claim u did not put in enough effort and will strive to do well the next time and yet when u do things to undermine a friendship, its no big deal and there's no effort put in to strive and remedy the situation.

Unfortunately this is how the society works, and we don't have enough non-conformists to break out of this mindset.

If grades are based on conduct, like in the kindergaten days, where how u socialise during masak2 periods and treat ur classmates is a point to be graded upon, i think most of my friends would be school dropouts.

I still believe i have a great bunch of friends to rely on. Although its smaller in number now, i appreciate our great friendship.

Thanks friends, and thanks for the great KL trip.
